Music Lessons

One-on-one lessons in our studios, typically 30 minutes a week.

You choose the instructor. The average lesson is $30 per half hour; each instructor sets their own rates.

Repairs & Restoration

A full-service, in-house repair facility — not a shipping counter.

Band, orchestra, fretted and percussion, including vintage drums. Estimates are done in-store.

For schools

Our rental program serves dozens of school districts and private schools in the Metro Detroit area

We make weekly trips to most schools in Oakland County, and we deliver online rental contracts to your school free of charge, normally within 48 hours.

These are typical paths, not rules — our staff can help customize any of them for your student.

Band Student

  1. 1Pick your instrument with a sales associate
  2. 2Start a month-to-month rental (delivery to most Oakland County schools)
  3. 3Add weekly lessons with an instructor who fits
  4. 4Bring it to the bench for seasonal checkups — covered by your rental
  5. 5Apply your accrued credit toward buying or stepping up

Orchestra Student

  1. 1Get sized for violin, viola, cello or bass
  2. 2Rent the right size and swap up as the student grows
  3. 3Find an orchestral instructor at Troy or Waterford
  4. 4Bring bows and strings in for setup and repair
  5. 5Explore a step-up instrument at Detroit Violin Co.

Guitar & Fretted

  1. 1Talk through what you want to play
  2. 2Book lessons with a fretted instructor
  3. 3Bring your guitar in for setup or fret work
  4. 4Browse gear in-store or on our Reverb shop

Percussion & Drums

  1. 1Start with a percussion kit or snare rental
  2. 2Add lessons for reading and technique
  3. 3Bring drums — including vintage kits — to the repair shop
  4. 4Grow into a full setup when you're ready
